The boots are nice. Just what I need for a wet, slushy, New England weather. I usually wear a size 8/8.5, so I ordered 9 since I like to wear winter boots with very thick socks. The foot bed is sized appropriately in this size, not too long or wide. Although getting the boots on wasn't a problem at all, getting the boots off is a bit of a problem. The left boot came off with a bit of handling. The right boot took some patience. I think I'll keep them anyway. I liked them too much to send back. It is hard to find winter waterproof boots that look half way good enough to wear to work. I'm hoping that the right one with stretch around the ankle a bit over time.I decided to give Bogs another try in my extreme desperation to find a tall waterproof winter boot. Years ago my first pair of Bogs was warm, dry, and attractive but quality has deteriorated in subsequent years with the boot ripping and the design fading pretty early in their life. I tried again, tho. This boot is really not that tall. I am generally a 7.5, but this 7.5 felt like a 6 or so. and it was clear I would need to try not just a half size up but maybe a couple whole sizes up. Because this boot is really not tall enough for the snows here in Maine, I didn't pursue (but ended up with a Baffin Madelaine, which is great. Where are the Bogs of yesteryear??Love these boots! They do need a couple wears to help stretch the top of the foot out but otherwise fit as expected. Be sure to wear tall socks as when removing the boots the do have a tendency to take you whole sock off too if not careful.Very pleased with my new Bogs. I originally ordered half a size up since I wanted to wear them with thick socks. While those fit okay, it was incredibly hard to get them on and (especially) off. So I exchanged for a full size up from my regular size, which was definitely the way to go. Yes, they're a little stiff, especially around the ankle, but I don't mind--these are SERIOUS boots after all, and I feel secure walking around on slippery surfaces. These certainly run small. I ordered a size up based on other reviews, and I'm glad I did! These are actually a bit shorter than I'd like even at a larger size.I ordered a whole size larger and they weren't big enough, so I just returned and did not re-orderVery warm but run small, especially in the calf.Exactly what I expected.
