Roper Men's Nappa Notched Collar Leather Vest for Big & Tall - Stylish Layering Piece for Casual Outfits & Outdoor Adventures

When this vest arrived (and it arrived quickly) I was so very pleasantly surprised. This vest is a very good, well sewn, a well made vest of good quality leather and other supporting materials. It is fully lined with a satiny (probably synthetic) material, which also speaks of the quality in design as well as materials chosen.It arrived in a large flat box and was packaged very well with a cardboard support frame and tissue covering it within a plastic outer garment pouch to keep it in excellent condition during shipping and/or storage.Although the Buffalo Nickel Buttons (they even included an extra button which shows good quality planning and manufacturing) are a bit too shinny and flashy yet not at all cheap looking, over all the vest has a high class appearance. The leather itself is not shinny but has the true Cow Nappa Leather finish which is thick but not at all stiff. The leather looks like it could wear and wear and only get better looking as well as form fitting with much use and age.The leather is supple and on the heavier thicker yet just right weight (for a vest of this type and style) side. The tailoring design is exactly what I have been looking for a long time. A design that reflects a bit of the older more traditional western cut with notched collar and western peaked double yoke front and back, which gives the appearance that the overall design is timeless. It could have just been found in a wardrobe from a Grand Old Western Movie Set, or stepped directly off the dance floor of a High Class Most Modern Western Hotel. I can almost hear the Fiddle still calling me to strut my stuff around the outer circle of all the other dancers on the ball room floor so I can be seen and potentially catch a wink and a nod from that favorite classy lady.NOW all that being said. the only draw back I found was the sizing. COMPLETELY ignore the sizing chart shown along side the box where you choose your final size selection. That is a size chart for "Normal" shirts or jackets and NOT for Vests and Especially Leather Vests. The sellers of these vests always seem to get real lazy and just garb that sizing chart because it is convenient. Trust me it will lead you astray.I wear a 2xl in shirts and most jackets (other than ones that take the long trip from China to get here), but for this vest I choose a size 3xl and it fits fine, not too loose and not too tight. I cannot wait to be able to wear this vest enough to have it eventually contour itself and hug my full torso and physique.The button holes are tight at first which is a good thing, because being leather they will loosen up.I feel at this point I will be loving this vest the more I wear it and I am sure the more I am able to catch the fancying eye of all the pretty ladies, I will be wearing this vest often. This was a really good purchase.
