I really like all of the features of these pants and being lined with Gore-Tex, I know they keep me dry. Haven’t had them in rain yet.Riding in very hot weather with the 4 zippers open does help quite a bit, but when it is 100+ degrees, they can only vent so much. They are the previous generation of the Carlsbad, but nicer than any of my other riding gear and at a very good price.Always worried buying online being 6’5 that the pants won’t fit but these are true to size. I’m a 34” waist and the 34 Tall is spot on. Seem good quality and the armor doesn’t seem cheaply made like some other brands.I use these as commuting overpants with the matching jacket. I wear a 33 or so and the 34s fit over my normal pants fine. The lack of liner makes them work well for this. The integrated belt keeps the fit perfect. Some might be put off since they don't have the full length zipper, but since I have some enormous Forma off-road boots that wouldn't go thru my old 38 overpants with a full length zipper, it hasn't been an issue. The cuff snaps look dumb, and might be slightly fiddly, but they actually work pretty well, although if you aren't wearing large boots, they may not get tight enough. I have been in a couple of light rains, and I was absolutely dry. Haven't used the venting yet.The CE1 armor seems kinda light, but it can be replaced with CE2.Overall, I'm quite pleased. The Carlsbad is my first pair of Klim riding pants, I like the quality of construction and that they're Gore-tex for weather protection, but I agree with some other reviewers, the Regular is too long in the inseam. I wear a 36/32 in most pants and ordered the 38 regular so that I could layer under them for cold weather riding. The 38 is perfect for this but the regular inseam is just too long in my opinion. I will make them work but would like to have an option of a 38 Short, which I have not been able to find. Still overall a great pant from Klim, and one that I expect will last for a long time.I wear 34 pants, these fit perfectly - I do have to bring in the waist with the attached adjusters when I am wearing only boxers underneath, but these will also fit with thermals and fleece insulators underneath. The order was for size 32, the document that arrived with the product today say size 32 but the product is size 34.What went wrong?Received these Carlsbad pants today and I love the fabrics that they used. I do see a potential flaw in that the belly button snap will give up or become loose over time. They should have reinforced it with some sort of ratcheting vinyl strap or good quality soft velcro strap. I am 5'10" and bought the size 36 with regular inseam and the pants are way too long. This problem also causes the D30 knee protector to be lower than it should be rendering it useless in the event of a crash or fall. You have to be at least 6' tall in order for the regular pant size to fit you perfectly. Come on Klim, how about making a shorter version pants for us shorter adventure offroad riders.
