I plugged it in the wall after installing a 12 watt type A bulb and the switch sparked up and fuses in house went.I read the invoice and it actually said "Only For Display Purpose". LOL. Was going to return it but liked the style so went to Home Depot and bought new socket and switch, the cord seemed fine for 12 watts. The switch is a piece of junk, no UL approved label it. The socket actually look fine but was poorly wired, and replaced it anyway.The quality of the rest of the unit is actually ok and looks basically like you would expect. The light bulb stands straight up and a type A19 will fit, but not the larger A21 and would only use an LED or CFL because the enclosure does not vent well if light is pointed up (the vents are only in back and a small on top, but none in front)OK lamp, but i would NOT buy this unless you replace the switch and check the wiring before you use it.
