What a pity that I had to return these boots; they are not only good looking as far as the design,color,comfort, and attention to details are concerned but they are also constructed of a good, supple leather that one would have gotten a long wear and last you for years to come if you could only get them to fit you right. I normally wear between a size 9 and 91/2 depending on the designer and/or the design of the shoe; in this case, I went with size 40 (European) which is equivalent to 91/2 or even 10. The shoe bed fitted just right and I had no issue with that but when it came to zipping it all the way up, it would not budge after half way through. I never bought wide calf boots before as the normal sizes seem to always fit me right but obviously not in this case; in fact, if your calf size is anything but not on a very slender side, you may find these to be quite a disappointment especially if your intention is to mostly wear them with skinny jeans/leggings tucked-in. Other than that, it was such a beauty worth every penny. Those with a smaller calf will indeed be lucky to find this dime...
